Scott L. Young, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unmatched spirit. Born on December 25, 1959, Scott lived his life with a passion that shone through in every interaction and every endeavor.
Throughout his life, Scott found great fulfillment in his career at C Squared Inc, where he cherished the relationships he built with colleagues. He was respected and admired for his unwavering work ethic and dedication. Scott was truly a jack of all trades, often referred to as the “all-time Mr. fix-it.” His remarkable ability to tackle any problem left an indelible mark on those who knew him, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Scott's personality was larger than life; he never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms. He was a blunt realist, speaking his mind with honesty and sincerity. His selflessness and genuine care for his loved ones made him a steadfast pillar of support for family and friends alike.
A true patriot at heart, Scott loved his country deeply and took pride in the freedoms he enjoyed. His proudest moments were reflected in the time spent with his family, who were his greatest treasure. He adored taking his family to the lake, echoing the sentiment that “the water called him.” Whether it was working on cars or creating joyful memories with his wife, Karen Black, and children—Shaun Young, Daniella Young, and Alexandrea Hutchinson—Scott's heart was always full.
He also cherished time spent with his grandchildren—Joshua Turner, Aliyah Turner, and Haley Young—bringing immeasurable joy and boundless love into their lives. He had a special bond with his brother, Philip "Shorty" Thomas, sharing laughter and memories that will be forever etched in their hearts.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Young, mother, Diane Young, sisters, Andrea Young Trahan and Belinda Thomas who welcomed him with open arms in the afterlife. The impact of their absence is felt deeply, and though their memories may bring a twinge of sorrow, they also serve as a reminder of the love that binds them all together.
As we gather to celebrate Scott's extraordinary life, we honor him with the words he lived by: "It is what it is, live your life the best way you can." He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, joy, and love, teaching us all the importance of cherishing every moment and supporting one another.
Family and friends are invited to join a memorial gathering on July 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272.
