Scottie James Aymond passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at the age of 63 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on July 7, 1961, in Baton Rouge, Scottie lived a life full of heart, humor, and hard work. He brought warmth, laughter, and a friendly smile wherever he went, leaving behind memories that will continue to bring light to those who knew and loved him.
A gifted and passionate mechanic, Scottie spent over 30 years in a career he truly loved. His talent was matched only by his willingness to help others and his joy in solving problems under the hood. Whether it was with a wrench or a wisecrack, he had a way of making things better.
Scottie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Dimitry of Baton Rouge; his children, Renee A. Dupre (Glenn) of Gheens, Jonathan Aymond of Houma, and Joshua Aymond (Brandi) of Houma; his step-son, Shaun Dimitry (Kristin) of Jasper, TX; his father, Everette Aymond of Livingston; his brother, Darren Aymond of Baton Rouge; his grandchildren, Taylor Dupre and Alaina Dupre; and his step-grandchildren, Lynlee Dimitry, Kenzie Dimitry, and Anniston Dimitry.
Scottie was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Addis Aymond, who no doubt welcomed him into Heaven with a warm hug and kiss.
A celebration of Scottie's life will be held Saturday April 26, 2025 visitation 10:00-1:00 following a service 1:00 chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. Burial will follow at Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
