Sean Phillip O'Malley age 40 of Glen Ellyn. Devoted son of Mike O'Malley, stepmother Lou Ann and son of the late Susan Drury and Fond brother of Daniel & Michael O'Malley.

Sean honorably served in the Army, earning the rank of Specialist. He was deployed to Mosel, Iraq, 67th Combat Support Hospital - FOB Diamondback; receiving the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II.

He was proud of his fitness and his ability to bench press 300 LBS. Additional accolades include: National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award).

Sean had a passion for and was a talented artist, he enjoyed working on customizing cars and enjoyed music.

Sean and I were close friends in high school, but lost touch. He was an extremely talented artist and very intelligent. I wish I had reached out sooner. For those of you asking what happened to him...it´s kind of insensitive to ask, and if you pay attention to the obituary and read between the lines you can probably figure it out yourself.

Omg this news is terrible . Sean and I had a long history as kids . May god rest his soul. I pray for him and his family. This news saddens me terribly. Sean and I were friends as kids and in high school. Still remember going up to the arcade called Galaxy World every summer morning before high school started and playing Mortal Kombat till it got dark out or we ran out of money.

I´ve been trying to reach him the past year or so to no avail, so I knew something was wrong. I emailed and texted his old number but it wasn´t his number anymore. I served with Sean in Germany in the motor pool. This news hits me like a brick. He was a very strong solider and friend to everyone in the barracks. A stand up guy and we will miss him. Will have a few drinks in his honor tonight. Rest easy battle!

Just found out and I'm broken over Sean's passing! My fondest memory was when we drove 5 hours to Belgium to attend a 3 day music fest together. We camped, rocked, and drank a bit and had a blast together. My deepest condolences to Sean's family.
