Sean Maopao Yang, 39, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, passed away on December 27, 2025 with complications from his heart.
Sean was born on July 18, 1986 in Riverside, California to Mang Yang and Paofu Lee. He graduated high school in 2005 from Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis and then went to Toccoa Falls College in Georgia, earning a Bachelors of Science in Pastoral Counseling and Specialized Ministries in 2017.
Sean was a member of Hmong Hope Community Church in Spring Lake Park, MN. Where he also served as Youth Pastor. Sean worked at New Millenium Academy as the Afterschool/Summer Hmong Engagement Director.
Sean is preceded in death by his dad Mang Yang and niece Skylar Yang and survived by his mom, Paofu Yang; sisters, Destiny (Alcides) and Xylina (Tony); brother, Syant (Ka); and his nephews, AJ and Harrison; and nieces, Luna, Mazelyn, Hayden, Nadeleine, and Reya.
