Sekani Day’Zire Powell

Baby Sekani Day'Zire "Joy" Powell went to rest in the arms of the Lord on November 9, 2025. He was born on September 21, 2025, in Carrollton, Georgia. Though his time was brief, just one precious month, he filled our hearts with a lifetime of love.
He is deeply loved by his parents: mother, Nikkita Powell and father, Rason Prophet; great-grandmother, Ms. Barber Reese; grandmothers, Deidra Jones and Tanjy Doby; grandfathers, Donald E. Powell and William Doby; sisters, Nakira Hector, Shemaya Simmons, and Khelani Preston; brothers, Tylen Phillips, David Phillips, Zitorian Guyton, Caleb Guyton, Messiha Caple, Dream Rolison, and Million Powell; godmother, Hesper Lowery; godfather, Isiah Germany; honorary family, The Cheathem's; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.
A service to celebrate Sekani's precious life will be held in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Minister Anissa Shackelford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
