Sergeant Major Retired Scott Webb passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of distinguished service, unwavering leadership, and deep camaraderie forged over three decades in uniform.
William Scott Webb was born on Jan. 13. 1960 in Boise, ID. He was the second child born to John O. and Wilma J. Webb. He attended Ustick Elementary School, Meridian Jr High and graduated from Bonanza High School in 1978. As a youngster, Scott was regularly active even though he had asthma; he raced motorcycles, played Football, Baseball, Basketball, loved tinkering with cars, and cared for many family animals, including a talking Parrot named Perry. He was the main milker at Webb's Dairy, the family farm, in Bonanza and went on to milk cows again for White's Dairy when the family moved to Ontario, OR. His love for dogs was immeasurable, and he always had one or more as a companion along his journey. Always looking for a challenge, Scott entered the Powerlifting world in 1985 where he competed and set local records and later set National Records at Fort Bragg, NC. Scott was always full of adventure and when the Army called his name he became all he could be.
SGM Webb enlisted in the United States Army in 1982 from Ontario, Oregon. He completed On Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, as an 11C (Indirect Fire Infantryman) and served his initial enlistment in Germany. Following his overseas tour, he continued his service in the Oregon Army National Guard as a 13F (Fire Support Specialist).
In 1986, SGM Webb returned to active duty as a 71D (Legal Specialist), embarking on a career that would span continents and commands. His assignments included:
· Paralegal NCO, Special Forces Command – Fort Bragg, NC
· Paralegal NCO, 2nd Infantry Division – Korea
· Paralegal NCO, 18th Airborne Corps – Fort Bragg, NC
· Drill Sergeant, 369th AG Battalion – Fort Jackson, SC
· Senior Paralegal NCO, 25th Infantry Division – Schofield Barracks, HI
· First Sergeant, HHC 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade – Hunter Army Airfield, GA
· First Sergeant, 369th AG Battalion – Fort Jackson, SC
· Command Paralegal NCO, 10th Mountain Division – Fort Drum, NY

· Command Paralegal NCO, 25th Infantry Division – Schofield Barracks, HI
SGM Webb deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003 with the 10th Mountain Division during the initial surge into Afghanistan. He later deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007 and 2009 with the 25th Infantry Division.
He retired honorably in 2010 after 27 years of combined service. His awards and decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, six Meritorious Service Medals, six Overseas Service Ribbons, the Drill Sergeant Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Order of Saint Barbara, among others.
SGM Webb was more than a Soldier; he was a mentor, a steward of the profession, and a trusted leader. His impact on the Judge Advocate General's Corps and Army was profound, having shaped the careers of countless officers and enlisted Soldiers through his leadership as First Sergeant of the 27D Advanced Individual Training program and as the Command Paralegal NCO across multiple commands.
Later in life Scott developed a love for golf like his father and brothers. He had great times with friends and family on the golf course. If you knew Scott, you knew he loved you. He never left any question as to how he felt about anything or anyone. Scott will be remembered not only for his professionalism and dedication but also for his warmth, humor, and friendship. His legacy lives on in the Soldiers he led, the units he strengthened, and the lives he touched.
He was more than a soldier, more than a father, more than a son, more than a brother, and more than an uncle; he was a friend to all. His charming personality and wit will always be remembered along with his compassion for others. Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma, his father, John, and numerous fallen soldiers.
Scott is survived by his only child, daughter, Noni Webb, and her mother Donna Brown, brothers Lee Webb and Tony Webb, sister Tami Kressly, seven nieces and nephews, two great nieces and loyal Schnauzer companions Sweetie, Buddy, Lady, and Max,
