Shalonna Monique Lewis
July 8, 1984 - February 21, 2025
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Shalonna Lewis, who left us too soon. Shalonna was born on July 8, 1984, in Cecilia, Louisiana, to Carmelita Gordon and Frederick Lewis. A vibrant soul who lit up every room she entered, Shalonna was known for her infectious laughter and her unwavering ability to lift the spirits of those around her.
A loving and devoted mother to her son, Maddox Bernard, Shalonna's greatest joy in life was being a mother. She poured endless love and care into raising him, always putting his needs first. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle nature made her an incredible source of support for her family and friends alike.
Shalonna was a true social butterfly, known for her joyful spirit and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She had a knack for making others laugh, and her presence was a gift to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether it was making someone smile during tough times or sharing a laugh over a cup of coffee, Shalonna's light-heartedness brought happiness wherever she went.
She was also an active member of her community, dedicating her time to volunteering at St. Rose of Lima Church. As a religion teacher and a key part of the Fall Festival, Shalonna enjoyed bringing people together, socializing, and spreading joy. Her devotion to her family, faith, and community left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Shalonna is survived by her son, Maddox Bernard; her parents, Frederick and Carmelita Lewis; her sisters, Megan (John Michael Jr.) Baltazar, Haylie Lewis, and Gabrielle (Harry) August Coward; her maternal grandmother, Hilda Williams Gordon; four nephews, Mason and John Michael Baltazar III, and Legend and Lamontre Huval Jr.; and five nieces, Madison and Milani Baltazar, and Harleigh, Reese, and Nola Coward. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
While our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that Shalonna's memory will live on through the love she shared with us all. Her laughter, compassion, and joy will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Shalonna. You will always be in our hearts.
