Shana was born on April 5, 1999, in Little Falls, to David Mankouski and Sherri Barrows. She received her education from West Canada Valley Central School and furthered her education at Monroe Community College where she studied media, communications and photography. She was a self-employed content creator. Shana enjoyed photography, drawing and gaming. She loved traveling, attending cosplay conventions and spending time with her friends. Shana had a special love for her cats and made sure to keep the bird feeders full for her cats' entertainment.
Survivors include her parents, David Mankouski of Newport, and Sheri Barrows (Rodney Mowers) of the Town of Ohio; grandfather, Berdet Barrows of the Town of Ohio; three siblings, Cody Nix (Sarah Downs), McKayla Biando (Tristen Gauthier), and Carmen Mankouski (Julian Ruffule); aunts and uncles, Kevin (Roxann) Mankouski, Janine (Mark) Kozak, and Berdet (Michelle) Barrows, Jr.; cousins, Ashley (Jeff) DeLucia, Matthew Barrows, Connor (Emi) Mankouski, Austin Mankouski (Annie Hines) and Evan Mankouski; a niece and nephew, Julianna and Wyatt Gauthier; and many special friends including Jaden, George, Josh, Victoria, Kevin and Harley. Shana was predeceased by her grandparents, Eugene and Jane Mankouski, and Sharon Barrows; and a nephew, Bruce Gauthier.
Calling hours at the Autenrith Funeral Home, 7479 Main Street, Newport, are Sunday, January 11 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm. Spring interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Newport.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society, P.O. Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
