Our precious son Shane Joshua Young, 20, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, June 6, 2025. Shane is loved immensely by his family and it is with such profound sadness that we share of his passing. Our family is proud of the loving man, brother, and son Shane was.
Shane was born on February 24, 2005, in Orlando, Florida. He was preceded in death by his beloved younger brother, Nathan James Young. Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Brian and Jill Young of Fayetteville, NC; siblings, Daniel, Lily and Bethany Young; grandparents, Bobby and Kathryn Wilson of Parkton, NC; Larry and Sharon Washburn of Jenks, Oklahoma; and Michael and Susan Young of Sanford, NC; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Shane was the oldest of five siblings and deeply valued time with his family. He was studying business at UNC Pembroke while working at Taco Bell. Shane loved The Lord and his family. He enjoyed lifting weights, being outdoors, caring for animals, and spending time with his doodle, Sammy. Shane was tender-hearted and faithful. He was known for being loyal, caring, intentional and selfless. Though his time with us feels far too short, Shane was a gift from The Lord and his memory will always be carried in the hearts of those who loved him.
A viewing will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Rivers of Living Water Church of God, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 PM, officiated by Bishop Aaron Wilson and Bishop Johnny Rivera.
