It is with a fondness of heart and a depth of sorrow that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Shanna Rae Shepherd, who entered into eternal rest on October 31st, 2025. Born in Payson, Utah, on January 4th, 1992, to parents James and Angie Hicken, Shanna was a beacon of love, warmth, and creativity that illuminated the lives of all those fortunate to know her. Passionate and a force of nature she consistently advocated for what she believed.
Shanna, a devoted wife to Charles Shepherd and a loving mother to their children, Jovie and Nash, was an embodiment of selfless love and nurturing care. Her radiance was reflected in her role as a homemaker, where she turned her abode into a haven of tranquility and comfort. Shanna's zest for life was reflected in her love for camping, riding in the side by side, crafting, and photography both of nature and her loved one's. She had a great desire for capturing life's beautiful moments with taking photos . As Moroni 7:47 states, "But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with them." Shanna embodied this scripture, her love was pure, boundless, and enduring.
Shanna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, her faith serving as the compass that guided her through life's journey. Her spiritual strength and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all. As we remember Shanna, we are reminded of the scripture, Ether 12:4: "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God."
Shanna is survived by her husband Charles Shepherd, children Jovie and Nash Shepherd . Parents James and Angie Hicken. Siblings Evan (Kristen) Hicken, Debbie (Kale) Cozzens and Jimmy Hicken.
