With hearts full of both sorrow and love, we remember the beautiful life of Shannon
Marie Cutright-known affectionately as "Boo" who passed away peacefully in her home on June 29, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.
Born in Hillsboro, Illinois, Shannon was the beloved daughter of Kathy Buggs and
Dennis Cutright. She spent much of her early life in Janesville, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Parker High School. In 2019, she made her home in Poplarville, Mississippi, where she found peace, purpose, and love in the community she built with those closest to her.
Shannon was a dedicated worker, known for her time at Simmons and her familiar,
welcoming presence behind the bar at Bad Brad's. But the heart of Shannon's life was always her family. She was a woman who loved fiercely and gave selflessly.
Her proudest and most treasured role was being a mother to her daughter, Paige
Garthwaite. Shannon poured her entire heart into raising Paige, guiding her with love, strength, and unwavering support. The bond they shared was unbreakable, a
connection rooted in deep admiration, shared laughter, and the kind of love that lasts a lifetime. Paige was not just her daughter, but her best friend, her joy, and her greatest legacy.
Shannon also shared a devoted and tender love with her fiancé, Nate Whitehead.
Through every challenge and triumph, Nate remained by her side with unwavering
loyalty and care. In her final chapter, his strength, patience, and presence gave her
comfort and peace. Their relationship was one of true partnership rooted in laughter, Low Sensitivity mutual respect, and deep love. His devotion to Shannon was a gift she cherished every day.
Shannon found joy in simple moments, whether traveling the world or staying home to cheer on the Green Bay Packers with her loved ones and cherished dogs, Meaty Moo and Sadie Mae.
She now rests peacefully, reunited with those she loved and missed deeply: her
grandmother Joyce Taylor, her father Dennis Cutright, and her younger brother Derrick Cutright, and her dog Meaty Moo.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter Paige, her fiancé Nate, her mother Kathy and stepfather Ken Buggs, and her siblings Michelle and Kevin Dutcher, Cassy and Lee Cutright (Cappis), Cody Cutright, Shelby and Dave Cutright (Holt), Zach Cutright, and Tabitha Cutright. Her memory will also live on through her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and the countless friends who were lucky enough to know her light.
A celebration of Shannon's life will be held at a later date to honor the love, laughter, and strength she shared so generously. Details will be shared in due time.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported Shannon during her courageous battle with brain cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Warren of Hattiesburg, MS, her devoted home hospice nurse, and the many medical professionals who provided compassionate care. Most of all, thank you to her family and friends for their steadfast love, and to Nate, for never leaving her side.
Though Shannon is no longer with us in body, her love lives on-in every memory,
every story, and every life she touched. Her spirit will forever guide those she loved
most. #LGW
