Shannon Leigh Langlotz

Shannon Leigh Murray Langlotz, 49, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend peacefully passed away Sunday, March 3rd, 2019 at her sister's home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Shannon was born on February 10th, 1970 in Charleston, South Carolina to Alan and Sherrill Murray.

Shannon was a 1988 graduate of Princess Anne High School then attended Radford University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business in 1992. At Radford University, Shannon was a proud, active collegiate member of Sigma Kappa and learned to truly embody the sorority's core values: personal growth, friendship, service, and loyalty. Even after commencement, Shannon participated in sorority reunions and took initiative daily to exemplify the principles instilled in her. She constantly aspired to personify the ideals of womanhood.

Always seeking personal growth, Shannon was a breast cancer survivor who, even in illness, selflessly strived to make her home a haven to raise her children alongside her husband. She gave the gift of friendship to every person in her neighborhood. When her children were young, she became a member of Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPs), where she demonstrated service to her community and incorporated the teachings of Jesus Christ into the development of her children. She additionally worked as a teacher assisting children with special needs. Finally, Shannon's loyalty extended unconditionally towards every family member, coworker, and friend she knew.

Shannon is predeceased by her father, Alan Adair Murray, grandmothers Lurenna Pearl Murray and Helen Phylis Kennedy and grandfather William "Bill" Murray.

She is survived by the love of her life and husband, Ronald A Langlotz III, their three precious children Ryan Langlotz 18, Emma Langlotz 16 and Noah Langlotz 14, her mother Sherrill Murray Kennedy, mother-in-law Barbara Smith, sister Kirstin Murray Caldwell, niece Cassandra McMechen Caldwell, sisters in law Amy Weis and Jaimie Hall, nieces Soulie Babar, Charley Hall, Jahni Hall, nephew Jalyn Garner, and countless family and friends.

Always timelessly stylish and classy, Shannon wore an infectious smile which lit up her dark brown eyes -- strong and bold just like the coffee she and her husband loved in the mornings. To remember Shannon's warmth and sweetness, add a shovelful of love to your next hot beverage, take a sip, and be filled to the brim with her peace.
