It is with profound sadness that the family of Shannon Faye Farley-Unruh announce her passing on December 12, 2022 at the age of 48 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Helen Farley, her four children, Skyler Farley of McPherson Kansas, Shayne Peterman of Little River, Kansas, Hailie Unruh of Edgewood, New Mexico, and Savannah Peterman of Edgewood, New Mexico, as well as her three grandchildren, and her brother Michael Geren of Edgewood, New Mexico.
Shannon was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Farley.
Shannon was born February 5, 1974 at Doctor's Hospital in Modesto California. She worked as a case worker for the Human Services Department of the State of New Mexico, where she helped people in need to receive the assistance necessary to maintain a stable home, and the education and vocational training to become self-sufficient. In 2018 she was diagnosed with a debilitating condition, and was unable to continue her work and placed on disability. She didn't let her disability stop her from helping others however, she became an advocate for people suffering with dissociative identity disorder, where she positively affected countless lives.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on December 20th at 1:00 pm at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, 807 Central Avenue, Moriarty, New Mexico, followed by a graveside service, and a reception to be held at the Lions Club, 201 Broadway, Moriarty, New Mexico.
Memorial donations may be made to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, 807 Central Avenue, Moriarty, New Mexico.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, for their care and compassion in this most difficult of times.
