Sharon J. "Sheri" Abbey, 54, of
Bemus Point, NY passed away on February 17, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Sheri was born on April 28, 1971, in
Jamestown, NY to Sharon J. Nelson and Thomas Duckett. She was a woman whose life was defined by service, kindness, and selflessness. She gave freely of her time, her heart, and her strength-always placing the needs of others before her own. Whether through quiet acts of compassion or unwavering support for family and friends, she made everyone around her feel seen, valued, and loved.
Sheri shared a loving marriage with her husband, Tracy, for thirty years. Their life together was built on commitment, respect, and enduring love. Through every season of life-joys, challenges, and everything in between-she remained a devoted partner, offering endless support, loyalty, and care. Their marriage was a testament to patience, sacrifice, and the power of standing beside one another through all of life's challenges.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters; Kassie and Kayla, who were the pride of her heart. She loved them deeply and unconditionally, always putting their needs above her own. She was their greatest encourager, their protector, and their constant source of strength. Her guidance shaped the women they have become, and her love will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
Above all else, Sheri was a cherished grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and her greatest joy. She poured into them her time, patience, and endless affection, finding pure happiness in their laughter, their milestones, and their everyday moments. To them, she was a source of comfort, and unconditional love-a safe place where they were always welcomed and endlessly adored.
Sheri found happiness in the simple things– spending time with family, being a grandmother to her grandchildren, helping others and animals in need, thrifting, garage sales, craft shows, and Temu shopping.
She is survived by her loving husband of thirty years, Tracy Abbey; her daughters, Kassie Abbey (Tony Nary) and Kayla Abbey (Dylan Anthony); her grandchildren, Addyson, Tyler, Jaxsyn, Brynlee and Ryder; and many extended family members and friends who she loved deeply. She was preceded in death by her mother Sharon J. Nelson, brother Timothy Duckett and her two children Ryan and Tracilyn Abbey who she deeply missed.
Though she is no longer with us, Sheri's lives on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely. She will be profoundly missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Per Sheri's wishes there will be no funeral, but a celebration of life will be held on March 15, 2026 at the YWCA Lake Lodge at 1pm.
