Sharon Rose Barnhurst, 83, passed away on January 25, 2023.

Sharon was born on March 11, 1939 to Lucille J. Webb in Salt Lake City. She married Earl N. Avis in 1955, later divorced. She Married Leslie S. Barnhurst (Steve) in 1964.

Sharon spent most of her youth in Salt Lake City. She lived briefly with relatives in Lakeside, Oregon and with her grandmother Lulu Webb in Lark, Utah. She attended South High School and worked as a waitress at several restaurants. She later worked for Skaggs Alpha Beta and Macy's Supermarkets until age 71.

Sharon loved animals, and had a particular fondness for cats. She was a great cook. She was witty, charismatic and loved to laugh. She made everyone feel special. Sharon enjoyed road trips, sight seeing and rockhounding. She was an avid reader and had a large book collection.

Sharon was a talented singer and guitarist. She entertained patients at the VA hospital in the 1960's and later formed a karaoke group with her daughter Karree and brother Randy. They spent years entertaining people in retirement homes.

Sharon is survived by her sons Dan Avis and Troy Barnhurst, daughter Karree Bradford, stepson Faro Barnhurst, brother Jody Gittins, and several grandchildren, great grand children, neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, mother, brothers Danny Roush, Randy Gittins, Terry GIttins, nephew JJ GIttins, niece Monica Gittins, and great niece Vanessa Myers.

As per Sharon's wishes, there will be no formal services. The family will hold a private rememberance gathering at a later date.
