Sharon Bond, affectionately known as "REDD" was born in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 18, 1969, to Herman (deceased) and Mary McFadden. Sharon was the youngest of four children.
Sharon attended John Bartram High School where she obtained her High School diploma. Sharon later received a degree in Liberal Arts from Ocean County College.
Sharon served in the United States Navy during the Gulf war from 1988 to 1992. She lived in
Virginia Beach, VA., Indian Head MD., and
Lakehurst, NJ before moving to Beachwood, NJ. She worked at the Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst Commissary for the past 25 years as the head teller. Sharon was a huge Betty Boop fan and acquired lots of collectibles and art. She enjoyed traveling to Jamaica and Hawaii and dreamed of visiting Paris. She loved to cook and was great at every dish she made. She was known to enjoy a good medium rare steak. Sharon loved classic TCM films like "Imitation of Life" and "Gone with the Wind."
Sharon had a big heart. Her kindness made you love her. She loved her children dearly, and they were her entire heart. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman McFadden and her brother John Johnson (Kimberly). She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Sharon's memory will be carried on by her children, Stephon Bond (Nafesha Johnson) of Black Wood NJ, Brittany Bond (Patrick Moodie) of Waterbury CT., James Bond III (Nicholas Lewis) of Delran NJ, Kevin Bond, and Devon Bond (Destiny Peltz) Beachwood NJ, a granddaughter Kamari, and their father James W. Bond Jr.
Her mother Mary McFadden, fiancé Melvin Thomas, Aunt Shugg, Uncle Kenneth, brother William (Tracy) Gamble, sister Bridgett Gamble, nephew Calvin Gamble, four brothers-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, each holding a special place in her heart.
Visitation will be held Sunday February 1 from 1 to 3PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Interment will be Monday February 2 at 1PM Brigadier General William C Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
