Sharon Denise Hartsell Carter, 71, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 4, 2025, with those that loved her most by her side.
Services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm at the funeral home with the service following in the chapel at 3:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Dr. David Snow. The service will be webcast. Family & Friends will be at the home of her daughter, Beth, in Kannapolis after the service.
Sharon was born to the late Clyde C. and Melize Simpson Hartsell on June 22, 1953. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade Nelson Carter Jr., and brother, Jeff Hartsell.
Sharon was a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School. She married Wade in June 1972. Sharon was a wonderful co worker and friend to many at NorthEast Medical Center over her 30+ year career. She was also a founding member of Friendship Southern Baptist Church in Concord. Sharon was a dear friend to many over several generations. You’d always find her bringing snacks for all the kids on any team the children or grandchildren were on and the parents sausage biscuits for those early morning games. She was simply the best... always selfless. Sharon never thought of herself first and was a blessing to everyone around her.
Sharon's family was the most important part of her life. Grandchildren were her greatest blessing and she loved them all so much. If you ask any of them, she will always be the Best MEME ever.
Our lives are forever changed, but her life lessons will live on with us and her loved ones.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Beth (Dwayne) McMahan and Trey (Lacy) Carter; grandchildren, Morgan and Adam Rivers, Collin, Cameron and Kennedy Carter; great-grandchildren, Braxton Gaddis and Nora and Parker Rivers; brothers, Clyde (Jean) Hartsell and Danny (Linn) Hartsell.
The family would like to extend a very special "Thank You" to the staff at Atrium Northeast Cardiovascular Team and the whole Cardiovascular Intensive Care Team.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Carter family.
