Sharon M Cullinane

WORCESTER__Sharon M. (Nevalsky) Cullinane of Worcester, 61, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 19, 2025 in St. Vincent Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her sons, Paul J. Hassett, Jr and his wife Christine of Sutton and Scott Cullinane of Worcester; grandchildren, Genieve, Mason, Ava and Harper; her mother M. Connie Nevalsky of Worcester; siblings Steven M. Nevalsky of Worcester, Edward J. Nevalsky and his wife Angela of Spencer, Cindy A. Perro and her husband John of Millbury, Mark F. Nevalsky of Worcester, Richard A. Nevalsky and his partner Joseph of Worcester; Brian D.Nevalsky and his wife Kelly of Sutton; and Michael D. Nevalsky and his partner Kristen of Worcester; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her beloved father, Edward Nevalsky.
Sharon was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. She graduated from the former David Hale Fanning Trade School and took a lot of pride in her 40-year career as a dental hygienist. She was dedicated to mastering her craft, supporting her colleagues,
and making her patients feel safe in her hands.
Sharon loved life. She was always up for an adventure whether that was going to local concerts or traveling to other countries. She loved her Hampton Beach family vacations when her kids were young and later in life cherished her timeshare in Cancun where she took pride in her elite member status and made lifelong connections. She could also be seen soaking up the sun at home by her pool.
Sharon was a whirlwind of energy and hard work. She could be counted on to be the first person to arrive and the last to leave any event. She always jumped in helping with whatever needed to be done whether that was climbing on tables to hang decorations, doing the clean-up tasks that no one else wanted to do, providing transportation for her elderly parents, stuffing turkeys at Thanksgiving or helping to make hundreds of pierogis for Christmas.
Sharon had many roles in her life and took these roles seriously. She loved being a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Family was the most important thing to her. She loved her parents and valued the guidance and love they shared as well as the work ethic they instilled in her. Her siblings were more than just siblings, they were some of her closest friends and confidants. Navigating life together and always having each other's back. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly. She always knew what was happening in their lives and offered them unwavering love and support. She loved her sons and was proud of all of their accomplishments and always wanted the very best for them. She was full of energy, laughter, and silliness. She especially loved being goofy and playing with her grandchildren, earning the name "Silly Grammy." She was able to create a special relationship and connection with each of them.
Sharon valued her friendships, whether they were lifelong friends like John Spooner and Bob Fields; neighbor turned best friend, Joanne Landry; or her roommate, Tracy Defusco. She had too many friends to name everyone personally but know you were all loved.
Sharon had a great personality. She went out of her way to make other people feel comfortable and welcomed. Everyone that knew Sharon has an amazing memory to share full of happiness and laughter. She will be missed dearly by all.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone who helped and supported Sharon throughout this hard time with everything. It was appreciated by her and us all more than you know.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm in DIRSA MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. The funeral with a Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 24, 2025 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
