It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Marie Curry, 84, of Canton, GA. Sharon peacefully passed away on Friday, September 26th, 2025, after a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson's disease.
Sharon was born in Kayford, West Virginia on September 22nd, 1941 to Almeida Hern and George Mays. Sharon was one of 12 children born to Almeida and George. Though not the youngest of the siblings, Sharon was always small in stature and acquired the nickname "Teny" from a young age. Sharon was lovingly referred to as "Teny" by her closest family and friends throughout her entire life. Sharon married John Roger Curry on February 21st, 1959 in West Virginia. Sharon and John were beloved members of their communities as they began their lives together living in West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, and eventually moving to Canton, GA. Sharon was always on the go and enjoyed cooking, socializing, visiting her children and grandchildren, exercising, traveling, and taking trips with her friends and family.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 66 years John Curry, daughter Karen Huffman (husband Mark), son John Patrick Curry, sister Margaret Pauley and brothers Bill Mays and Johnny Mays. Sharon is also survived by her six grandchildren: Lindsey Huffman, Megan Huffman, Stephanie Huffman Sebring (husband Jake), Ryan Curry, Dylan Curry, and Caryn Curry.
