Sharon Kaye (Lady) Evers was born September 7, 1944 in Abilene, Kansas the daughter of Gerald and Auline (Milham) Lady. She passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Village Manor in Abilene.
Sharon grew up in the Abilene area, graduated from Abilene High School, and received her Bachelor's Degree from Kansas State University. Sharon worked in banking her entire adult life and was Vice President of the Trust Department at US Bank in St. Joseph, Missouri until her retirement.
She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats, and attended many football and basketball games throughout her life. She bled purple. She also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals whenever she could. She enjoyed traveling, and they went to every bowl game between 1982 and 2023. After retirement, Sharon enjoyed traveling to Estes Park where they spent the summer and enjoyed many campouts with the Good Sam's RV Club. Most of all, Sharon enjoyed being with family.
Sharon spent many years volunteering on various boards. She was on the Kansas State University Foundation Board and the Kansas State University Alumni board for many years. She also was on the board of the United Way and Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri. After living over 40 years in St. Joseph, Missouri, they moved back to Abilene four years ago.
On June 11, 1966 she was united in marriage to Richard Evers. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her brother Larry Lady (Carol) of Overland Park, Kansas, sister Donna Morgenson (Steve) of Ashland, Nebraska, and Debbie Davis of Abilene, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Auline Lady. She had numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Sharon will be Friday, August 15, 2025 at Emmanuel Church in Abilene with pastors Raymond Moore and Marc Riegel officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am, and burial to follow. Her final resting place will be in the Mount St. Joseph Cemetery in Abilene. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dickinson County, Village Manor, or Emmanuel Church and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home during business hours.
