Sharon passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Meridian Acres Assisted Living at the age of 87. The daughter of the late Howard “Barney” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Moore) Gang was born August 6, 1937 in Bay City, Michigan. Sharon was a member of the United Way RSVP and their quilting and knitting groups. She was also a member of the Aquamarine synchronized swimming group for 54 years. Sharon enjoyed gardening, canning, blueberry picking and being a Girl scout leader for many years, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her children, Sue (Phil) DeRogatis, Mary (Bill) Fogelsinger-Huss, Dr. Amy (Kevin) McCarthy; grandchildren, Dr. Andi (Kyle Cordes) DeRogatis, Dr. Julia DeRogatis and her fiancée, Dr. Nick Foy, Maggie Huss and her fiancée, Ryan Haley, Sam (Shannon) Huss, Daniel (Emma) McCarthy, Kelly (Mike Compton) McCarthy, Dr. Claire McCarthy and Erin (Maxwell) Thompson and two great grandchildren that are on the way; two siblings, Sandy (Jim) Lamkin and Greg (Miley) Gang and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sharon was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Fogelsinger and her sister-in-law, Marie Alarie.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Campbell. Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the United Way of Bay City or MyMichigan Hospice.
