Sharon Christine Griffin was born on October 30, 1955, to the late Alto Griffin Sr. and Joan Crawford. Sharon was raised in the Garfield and East Liberty sections of Pittsburgh. Sharon attended Rogers Elementary and Peabody High School. She continued her education and obtained her Nursing Assistant Degree. She was blessed with a spirit to love and care for others as if she was loving and caring for herself. On November 7, 1999, Sharon married the love of her life, Alter M. Howard III. She loved her family and she was there for them and they were there for her. She loved family gatherings and enjoyed spending precious moments with her husband and family. She loved to bake and made awesome candied yams, peanut butter cookies, and many other delicious dishes. She especially loved fellowshipping with Sister Audrey Holmes around the holidays to help her make sweet potato pies.
She accepted Jesus and was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Penn Hills. She was then recommitted through baptism at Ethnan Temple. She was a Deaconess in training until covid interrupted the process. Sharon also assisted the kids at Sabbath School classes. Sharon really Loved getting outside and serving the community. She served with Bridges Homeless Ministries, the prison ministry, and she served with the street ministry of One Love Unity. Sharon loved Jesus and she also prayed that her family would come and give their lives to Jesus.
On March 17, 2023, Sharon departed this life for life eternal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alto Griffin Sr. and Joan Crawford; and brother, Alto Griffin Jr.
Sharon leaves to mourn her passing and treasure their memories of her husband, Alter M. Howard III (Ralph); sisters, Beverly Crawford and Diane Bethea; brother, Wayne (Karen) Griffin Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
