Sharon Hemming

Sharon Earlene Christner Hemming, age 87, of Quincy, died on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Timber Point Healthcare in Camp Point, IL.

Sharon was born on December 11, 1938 in Davenport, IA, a daughter of Earl L. and Leila Dell Agard Christner. On June 9, 1957 she married Ronald L. Hemming in Ursa Christian Church in Ursa, IL. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2001.

Sharon was a 1957 graduate of Unity High School in Mendon, IL. Following graduation, Sharon worked as an office manager for Ursa Farmers Coop for 45 years. Sharon enjoyed reading, flowers, butterflies, and going on fishing trips with her family and friends. She was a member of Ursa Christian Church.

Survivors include two children: Randall D. Hemming of Riverton, IL and Amy L. Hemming of Quincy, IL; two grandsons: Cory R. (Amelia) Hemming of Camp Point, IL and Travis Pierceall of Festus, MO; a granddaughter, Samantha (Matt) Evans of Chatham, IL; five great grandsons: Mason, Jake, Kane, and Dax Pierceall and Rykard Hemming; three great granddaughters: Adriana Evans, Aurora Juilfs, and Leila Hemming; two sisters: Teresa Sue (Dave) DeMoss of FL and Pat Knuffman of Quincy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Ronald, Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Craig Hemming; three brothers: Gene Howerton, Ken Howerton, and Lewis Christner; and a daughter-in-law, Connie.

Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating.

Inurnment: New Providence Cemetery in Ursa, IL
