In Loving Memory of
Sharon E. Herron
1954 - 2023
Sharon Eileen Herron of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away unexpectedly, meeting her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 5, 2023. Sharon was born on September 10, 1954 in London, England to Roy and Barbara (nee. Seth) Storey (both deceased) while immigrating from India to America. She and her parents became US citizens in 1964 in Peoria, IL.
Sharon grew up the eldest of 3 children. She attended Peoria Christian School through 8th grade. She graduated from Woodruff High School in 1972. Sharon obtained her Associate of Arts degree from IL Central College in 1974.
In her childhood, Sharon was a typical tomboy who liked to climb trees, go over fences, ride bikes, and read comic books. Her parents instilled a deep love for Jesus by their loving example, participating in worship and church activities and encouraging Bible devotions and prayer. In late August of 1974, Sharon agreed to go on a blind date with a guy from Iowa, set up by her dear friend Paula. On May 17, 1975, that blind date became her husband, Dave.
Sharon was an avid reader, never without a book, a frequent flyer of her local library. She loved spending time with her family, often exercising her knowledge of useless trivia. She always made time to lend a listening, caring ear and visited with every dog that crossed her path.
Sharon leaves behind to mourn her sudden passing, her devoted husband of 48 years, David; her beloved children, son, Dr. Jonathan (Amber) Herron of Saginaw, MI; daughter, Andrea (Chris) Durfee of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; 8 Grandchildren that she was exceedingly proud of, Josiah, Ainsleigh, Seth, Levi and Alysia Herron of MI, and Cameron, Ian and Quinn Durfee of OH; sisters Sarah (Tom) Smiles of IL and Stephanie (James) Sellers of NV; nieces Ashley (Micah) Freedman of CA and Zoe Sellers of NV; nephew, Owen Sellers of NV; brother-in-law Michael (Richard) Herron of IA; sister-in-law Suzanne Nees of IA, Fur-baby Mya, along with dear family and friends around the world.
A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held Thursday, December 14th at Riverwood Chapel, 1407 Fairchild Ave, Kent, OH. Visitation will be at noon with service beginning at 1pm. Memorial donations may be made to LifeChurchGive.com or because of her immense love for all animals, to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
