Sharon Jaeger Obituary
Sharon Lynn Jaeger, 82, passed away on November 9, 2023, at Inglenook in Brighton after a battle with Alzheimer's.
Sharon was born on December 12, 1940, in O'Neill, Nebraska to Lyndle R Stout and Alice (Soukup) Stout. She grew up in Imperial Nebraska, graduated from Chase County High School and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married her high school sweetheart James (Jim) L Jaeger in 1960 and they moved to McCook Nebraska. They then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1967, and from there to Brighton Colorado in 1970.
She and Jim raised two children, Mike Jaeger (Kristin Forster) and Jodi Michel (Rob Michel). They had three grandchildren Kyle Michel (Apryl), Ashley Ricard (Alan), and Kayla Campuzano (Julio). She had 5 great grandchildren (Adalynn, Brynlee, AJ, Malachi, and Sophia)
Sharon was a stay-at-home mom early in her married life. Sharon ran a small day care business for several years while in Cheyenne and Brighton. She also volunteered as the school librarian for several years at Zion Lutheran School. Once her kids were older, she started working at Platte Valley Bank where she worked and retired after 30 years.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran church since 1970 and was involved in Boards, Choir, School, and any activities that were going on at the school or church.
She and Jim rarely missed any BHS athletic or thespian event and always supported the local students.
She was involved with many city events including the City Christmas tree decorating group, Fine Arts at Four, Brighton Cultural Arts, Meals on Wheels and many other events that just needed a helping hand.
Sharon loved music, plays and flower gardening. She had a passion for taking pictures and always organizing each year's pictures for everyone to enjoy.
She never missed preparing every family member's "home cooked" birthday dinner. She loved preparing meals for friends and family on special occasions as well, one of her favorites was her Saint Patrick Day corn beef and cabbage, Christmas progressive dinners, and patio time with friends and family. Cooking and serving truly brought joy to her heart.
She was always the first person to make sure everyone she met felt welcomed and loved.
She lived her life, daily, with the motto Faith, Family and Friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Jaeger, and her parents, Lyndle and Alice Stout. She is survived by her Children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her sisters, Sue Heinz and Shirley Kiatta.
A Service will be held on December 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. There will be a celebration of life reception after the service with a light luncheon, everyone is welcome.
Memorial donations can be made in Sharon's name to Zion Lutheran School, 1400 Skeel Street, Brighton, CO 80601
The family would like to include a special thank you to the staff (especially Memory Care) at Inglenook and hospice for the amazing end-of-life care and their unwavering compassion and support during Sharon's stay there.

I shared many beautiful memories with Sharon. I worked for her for about 9 years at Platte Valley Bank/Valley Bank. She was a delight to work for and with. I especially remember the craft angels ornaments she gave us each year and each year they adorn My trees as I think of her. She also gave me my first Christmas earrings. I cherish those things and the memories I have.
