Sharon Kay Shively Page, 85, of Erie, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, KS.
Sharon was born December 27, 1939 in Parsons, KS, to Bertha Kathryn (Schenherr) & James Murray Shively. Sharon grew up in Chanute, KS and graduated from Chanute High School in 1957. After high school, Sharon attended Kansas State College of Pittsburg where she received her Bachelor's Degree in 1961.
Sharon met the love of her life, Marion J Page, dragging main street in Chanute, KS during her college years. She and Marion united in marriage on May 5th, 1962 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chanute, KS. The "city girl" settled on the farm with her farmer to start a life together.
Sharon was a beloved wife and a loving mother to her four children. She spent 62 years actively involved in many activities including: bridge club, pinochle night, dance club, sorority, Red Hat Society, bowling, and supporting her children and grandchildren at their various activities and events.
Sharon taught many children over 30 plus years at CUSD 101, including her very own children in her classroom. She taught with kindness, compassion, and most of all, love. She also spent many afternoons visiting around the kitchen table or thoughtfully hand writing out and sending cards to lift up and encourage friends and family.
Sharon was an endearing friend to all she met; she was fiercely loyal to her friends. She was also a great listener to all and a safe space to be around. She loved traveling, cross stitch & embroidery, and a fierce game of cards.
Sharon's grandchildren were the light of her life. She was often found spoiling them beyond measure. Her grandchildren were very precious to her and she made sure they knew it. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Brent Shively. She is survived by: her husband, Marion Page of Erie, children Kim (Darren) Wallace of Urbana, Suzanne (LeeRoy) Whitcomb of Fort Scott, Marsha (Don) White of Lawrence, Rob (Missy) Page of Oswego. Five grandchildren: Rick Wallace, Cassie Compton, Braden Page, Haley Page, and Crew White. Three step grandchildren: Christie Harvey, Sarah Chard, and Beau Whitcomb. Sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30, Thursday, April 10, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, with Fr. Matthew Davied officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in St. Paul from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, where friends may call after 1 p.m., Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Grant Community Center at Stark. They may be left at or mailed to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P. O. Box 272, St. Paul, KS 66771. Online messages may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
