Sharon (Doyle) McCabe, 84, entered into the arms of the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jersey City, NJ and graduated from Saint Aloysius, Class of '59. She would relocate to the Trenton area where she raised her family. Sharon was a devoted wife and mother and thrilled to be a doting "Gigi" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends would often say she was one-of-a-kind, and always made them smile. Her warmth, kindness and generous spirit were ever-present. Over the years she opened her home to extended family and friends in need and made everyone feel welcome. Her easy going nature can be attributed to her deep faith in God and the belief that everything would work out, no matter how bumpy the ride.
After raising her family, she began a second career in food service, first with Continental Cuisine Caterers and Gourmet-to-Go Deli both in Ewing, before joining Aramark. She began at Mercer County Geriatrics, preparing meals for the elderly, then transferred to the Youth Detention Center where she became affectionately known as "Grandma". She would retire after more than 20 years, serving the officers at the Mercer County Correctional Facility. She offered a compassionate heart and warm smile to many who worked in the kitchen with her over those years, leaving a profound impact on their lives.
Her passion for her family was second to none, nurturing and caring to her children as moms do. She treasured spoiling her grandchildren in their earliest years, with cookies for breakfast and candy dishes filled for the taking, playing in the park, dancing in the living room or watching their favorite movies on repeat. Family game night was the weekend highlight until the very end. She enjoyed basking in the warmth of the sun at the beach, family vacations in the Poconos, reading, live music, especially "old time rock-n-roll", and dancing. She was always the first one on the dance floor, usually with her niece Judy, and the last to leave. She lived life one day at a time, beautiful inside and out, with a tremendous heart full of love for everyone.
She was predeceased by her parents Matthew Doyle and Catherine Lynch, her brothers, Matthew (Margaret) and Mark (Min), her sister, Michele Llaneza (Butch), her beloved husband of 40 years, Austin "Mac" McCabe, and a special sister-in-law and best friend, Lauretta Gallagher.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Doyle (Kathy) and sister, Marianne Denman (Dave); sister-in-law, Jean Bullock; her children, Sharon and former son-in-law, "Tommy-boy" Pagano, Christine Watts (Edward), Sheila Alvarez (Luis), Matthew and Austin, and second-mom to Denise and Lisa Riccardi; grandchildren, Luis AlvarezJr., Emily Watts, Austin and Addison McCabe; and great-grandchildren, Aleka and Avery Alvarez, and was "Gigi" to Gianna Alvarez and Hailey King, her god-daughter, Dianne Jannone, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
