Sharon Ann McClain, 78, of Byhalia, MS, passed on to her Heavenly home on January 14, 2025, surrounded by her family. She and her twin sister were born to George Edward Morton, Sr., and Louise Lacey Morton on October 13, 1946, in Memphis, TN.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 25 years, James P. "Jim" McClain, Sr.; her daughter, Elizabeth Freeman Thomas; her son, Jimmy McClain, Jr. (Amanda); her grandsons, Adam "AJ" Thomas, Jackson McClain (Jamie), Jamerson McClain, and Paxton McClain; her twin sister, Karen Allen (Harold); her brother, Jerry Morton (Anita); her sister-in-law, Patti Morton; her nieces and nephews, Amy Smith (Joey), Jeremy Morton, Cory Morton, George Morton, III (Gina), and Briton Dean (Ronnie); and several special longtime friends.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, George Morton, Jr.
Sharon lived a full and active life devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed photography; gardening; caring for her furry pets and all her turtles; trips to Maggie Valley, NC; attending her grandsons' sports events; hosting family celebrations; and dressing in matching outfits with her twin sister. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS, and enjoyed attending her Sunday School class and organizing the ladies' crochet group.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanual Baptist Church. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Stan May officiating. Graveside service will immediately follow at Byhalia Cemetery.
