Sharon K. Peyton, age 83, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Sanford in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Day County.

Sharon was born on December 24, 1941, in Waterloo, IA, to Willis and Agnes (Ambrose) Ihlenfedt. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1960.

On September 1, 1962, Sharon married William Peyton. Sharon was a housewife that managed the cleaning, cooking and caring for the family. They raised two children, William and Pamela.

Sharon enjoyed gardening, reading a good book, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Sharon is survived by her son, William (Joni) Peyton; daughter, Pamela (Rick) Lueck; grandchildren: Jennifer (Justin) Pfeifer, Heather (Kellen) Marson, Brittany Walkins, Dylan (Courtney) Walkins, Erica (Casey) Kneebone, Cheryl Peyton, Stephanie (Mike) Aas, Michael (Kate) Peyton; great-grandchildren: Aidan, Adelyn, Archer, Emmit, Kyler, Hayley, Sawyer, Frankie, Dalton, Natalee, Calvin, Clyde, Sophia, Myla, Henry and Isabella; brother, Ron Ihlenfeldt; half siblings: Nancy Storey, Susan Meier and Jane Keller.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, her daughter Sheryl, half siblings: Debbie Reeves, Rick Schmidt and Judith Ihlenfeldt; and great-grandson Asher.
