Sharon Elaine Powell

Dec 6th, 1948 - March 27th, 2026, Sharon was born raised, and spent most of her life in Portland, Maine.

Sharon was employed for many years at the Osteopathic Hospital (later Maine Medical Center) as an executive secretary and after a brief retirement completed her working years at the Falmouth Walmart as a department manager. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Sharon enjoyed spending her time surrounded by family- the most important thing in her life. From family gatherings to birthday parties, she was sure to be front and center. Nothing gave her more joy than being a mother to her 5 children and a grandmother to her 17 grandchildren. She would spend every weekend with a house full of family, away visiting family or at her children and grandchildren's activities/sporting events. Sharon also enjoyed spending time at the lake, gardening, reading, and doing puzzles.

Sharon is Pre-deceased by her mother Mabel, father Robert, brother Russell, husband Herman, and daughter Melissa. She is survived by her daughter Marcia (Carmine) and sons David, Chad (Prany), and Herman Jr. (Barbara), sister Gertrude (Ronald), nephews and nieces as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at Hobbs Funeral home in South Portland on Saturday, April 4th from 2pm- 4pm.

Her burial will occur at a later date which will be communicated to family once scheduled.
