Sharon E. (Bohn) Scollo, 74, of Manns Choice, died June 19, 2024 after an extended and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 21, 1950 in Cumberland, MD, a daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Evelyn L. (Amick) Bohn. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1968 and attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh. She attended the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair in 1969, which was the signature event of her generation. It was billed as "3 days of Peace & Music" and attended by nearly 500,000 young people, with 32 musical acts. It was one of the largest music festivals in history. She later joked that she was invited to go because she was the only one of her friends who had at tent, and because they knew she could cook, and that she would take care of them if something went wrong!
Always up for an adventure, Sharon moved to Key West, FL and lived there from the early 1970's through 1989, at which point she returned to Manns Choice with her husband Tony Scollo, to be closer to family and friends. While in Key West, she engaged in various occupations and adventures including: Chef, Realtor, and owner of a furniture refurbishing business. As a Realtor, she listed some of the finest properties in the City of Key West, including "The Commander's Quarters", a property so-called, because it was the residence of Presidents and dignitaries when they visited the Keys.
She loved her kitchen and especially enjoyed hosting dinner parties for family and friends. She reveled in always creating delicious and mouthwatering dishes of all kinds, to the delight of everyone in attendance. She was recognized by those who knew her as caring, loving, kind, generous, warm, fun-loving, loyal, and dedicated to the welfare of all who were fortunate to be within her circle.
She is survived by her husband Tony Scollo of Manns Choice, a son Parker Gindele and wife Natalie Leivant, and their daughter Sierra June, all of Portland, OR; two step-daughters: Amanda and Hannah Scollo, of Portland, OR; two brothers: Tom Bohn and wife Tammy, and Steve Bohn and wife Susie, all of Manns Choice; a niece Tiffany Brouse and husband Jon, and their daughter Payton, all of Bedford. She was preceded in death by a brother Rodger Bohn in 1999. "Sheerun" was loved and cherished by her immediate and extended family, and will be sorely missed by all lucky enough to be able to call her wife, mother, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend.
Funeral services were held on June 26, 2024 at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, with Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating. Burial at Milligans Cove Christian Cemetery.
