Sharon E. (Paige) Turner passed away in Hartford, CT on January 17. She was 77 years old. Born in Springfield on July 28, 1948, she was one of 2 children born to the late Sam and Edith (Miner) Paige. She was a lifelong West Springfield resident. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1967.
Sharon worked as a bookkeeper for the YWCA. She was a devout Christian. The only thing that could rival her devotion to her faith was her family. She loved her trips to Cape Cod with her husband and daughters where they enjoyed visiting restaurants and shopping, or simply taking in the coastal vistas. Sharon also cherished hours spent playing cards and board games with her grandchildren.
Sharon was predeceased by her brother Richard Paige. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph; devoted daughters Wendy (Stephen, Jr.) Browning of West Springfield and Carla (Andrew) Tacke of Huntington; and beloved grandchildren Natalie and Christopher Jones, Ryan and Ashley Tacke, and Richard Paige, as well as her nephew Rick Paige and niece Gina St. Jean.
Calling hours will be 8:30-9:45am on Friday, January 23 at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, with a Funeral Service at 9:45 followed by committal at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11am. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Sharon’s name to the Springfield Rescue Mission, 10 Mill St, Springfield, MA 01108 or online at springfieldrescuemission.org/donate.
