Sharon Denise Walker, a compassionate caregiver, wildlife advocate, and beloved friend, passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on April 10, 1953, in Berwyn, Illinois, Sharon was raised in Green Lake, Wisconsin, where she developed her lifelong love of nature and wildlife.
Sharon earned her nursing degree and devoted over 30 years to triage work, providing critical care and comfort to countless patients. Most recently, she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS in Fort Valley, where her kindness and dedication were felt by all who knew her.
A passionate philanthropist, Sharon supported numerous wildlife and animal rescue organizations. She had a special love for elephants, adopting many through wildlife organizations and contributing generously to their protection. Her deep appreciation for the natural world was evident in all aspects of her life.
Sharon was also an avid reader, always seeking knowledge and inspiration through books. In her leisure time, she cherished attending shows at the Grand Opera House in Macon with her best friend, Mary Beth Zanders, creating countless memories together.
Known for her loving and generous spirit, Sharon touched the lives of everyone she met. Her unwavering kindness, dedication to others, and love for the world around her will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Jacqueline Kott; Chris Kott and Shelley Waterhouse.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her brothers, Michael Kott of Illinois and David Kott of Virginia; sister, Sandy Erickson; granddaughter, Deja Walker of Warner Robins; half-sister, Salley Roney; and beloved dogs Maxi and Miss M.
At the family’s request services will be private.
