Sharon Carter Woods, a beloved figure whose life was woven intricately into the fabric of her community, departed this world on October 11, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on February 16, 1961, Sharon illuminated the lives of those around her with her warm spirit and unwavering dedication.

After graduating from Ropesville High School in 1979, Sharon pursued her certification as a Licensed Vocational Nurse where she devoted a significant part of her life to caring for others, exemplifying compassion and skill throughout her career. This led her to follow her career to The Texas Department of Health where she worked in epidemiology. Here, she was able to focus on how to greater help her community by learning better interventions to prevent distribution of diseases.

Many hope to meet someone who completes them as a whole, and Sharon was able to accomplish this when she married her best friend, Tony Woods on December 16, 1990, in Lubbock. Together, they would travel and embark on many adventures for over two decades until his passing in 2012.

She is survived by her loving sons, Jason and Kyrsten Haselby, Chad and Kristen Woods, who will carry forward the legacy of love and strength she instilled in them. Her three grandchildren, Trevor, Hannah, and Audrey Haselby, were her pride and joy, and they, too, will forever remember the warmth of her hugs, the laughter shared during family gatherings, and the lessons learned under her gentle guidance. She is also survived by her two brothers, George and Matt Carter, who shared in her adventures and memories.

The tapestry of Sharon's life was rich with colorful threads of hobbies and interests. Among her pastimes, she found immense joy in gathering family and friends for spirited board game nights and thrilling poker sessions. The card tables she so skillfully navigated led her to the esteemed World Series of Poker in Dallas, a testament to her competitive spirit and love for the game. Music played a pivotal role in her life; the vibrant melodies of the 70s filled her home and heart alike. Sharon's passion for music often materialized into grand gatherings on her farm, where local bands graced the stage under the open sky, entertaining her family and friends in joyous revelry.

The loss of Sharon Carter Woods leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by the unwavering presence of her husband, Tony Woods; her father, Dan Carter; her nurturing mother, Dixie Davis; a brother, Micky Scott, and a sister, Vickie Scott. Each of them paved her path and their memories linger as a testament to her enduring strength and love.

As we gather to celebrate Sharon's extraordinary life, we invite all who were touched by her spirit to join us for a visitation at Broadway Funeral Directors in Lubbock on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 6 PM to 9 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church - Ropesville, at 10:00 AM.
