Shawen Renee Warrenfeltz, 64, passed away on September 3, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Howard Souders and Connie Souders. She was born in Hagerstown, MD on November 22, 1960. Shawen was a graduate of Boonsboro High School Class of 1979. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children Reuben, Chloe, Elizabeth, and Carly; her brother Howard McKinley Souders; and her beloved cat Andy. She is survived by her husband Dennis Warrenfeltz, who she married on September 18, 1983; her sister Fidella Starr (husband Jim); and many special nieces and nephews and their families. Shawen worked at Charles A. Gibney Florist and Greenhouse, St. James School in Food Service, and was co-owner of Roostervane Gardens in Funkstown, MD. She was a long time parent leader of Labor of Love Group (a support group for families who lost a child from miscarriage or SIDS), which was started by Wendy Hite. Shawen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved cooking meals for them. She also enjoyed doing crafts, especially rug hooking and making penny rugs. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 5:00 pm at Beaver Creek Christian Church, 9711 Beaver Creek Church Rd., Hagerstown, MD, with Rev. J. Mark Curran and Rev. Rachel Black officiating. The family will also receive friends during a reception with light refreshments from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, prior to the service. Interment will be held privately with the family at Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville, MD. Memorial donations may be made to The Sharpsburg Area EMS, 110 1/2 W Chapline St, Sharpsburg, MD 21782 or the Rural Heritage Museum, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
