Shawn M. Ard

Shawn Michael Ard, age 60, passed away peacefully at his home in Necedah, Wisconsin on November 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Shawn was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, brother, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his quick wit, and the joy he found in life's simple moments. Shawn loved reading books with his granddaughter, sharing jokes over a strong cup of coffee in the morning, building forts with his children, golfing with his sons, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with family. With his flannel shirt on Fridays, he welcomed all who wanted to sing karaoke or play the guitars, filling his home with laughter and music. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying kindness and compassion in all that he did.
Shawn is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Deanne (Nechvatal) Ard; his children, Joshua, Seth, Aedan, and Erin; his daughter-in-law, Jessica (Sabin) Ard; and his cherished grandchildren, River and Lochlan.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Deacon Paul Arbanas for his guidance, Shawn's doctors and nurses at the UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, Chrissy and the staff at St. Croix Hospice, and Dr. Angela Gatzke-Plamann with Mile Bluff Medical Center for their exceptional care and compassion. Special appreciation is also given to Lisa (Krough) Ard for her support as the family's "maid and groundskeeper", and to Shawn's sister, Mary (Ard) Glavin, whose care and comforting presence brought great peace to Shawn and his loved ones in his final days.
Shawn's warmth, humor, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In his own words, "Let's party!"
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, 12:00 p.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Necedah. Father Wesley Janowski will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
