Shawn Damschroder, 51, of Gibsonburg, passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 29, 2023. He was born in Fremont, Ohio, to Charles H. and Delores (Rewoldt) Damschroder on November 9, 1971. He graduated from Rossford High School and Penta Career Center. He later earned his welding certificate from Terra State Community College. Shawn was currently employed with TDI as a semi-truck driver. He was also the longest active TDI employee in Fremont.
Shawn loved listening to 70’s- 90’s rock music, with The Eagles being his favorite band. He was a fan of and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Michigan Wolverines, going camping and working in his garden. He always had a smile on his face, would do anything to help his family and friends, and did whatever he could to take care of his children and make sure they always had the best. Shawn left an impression on many hearts, as those close to him would agree, there will never be another father, partner, or friend like Shawn.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sid Damschroder (Raven) and Danica Damschroder both of Gibsonburg; his significant other of 15 years, Rhonda Valle of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Nate, Adrienne, Hayden; siblings, Brian Damschroder (Beth), Dion (Heather) Damschroder, Machelle (Bob) Jividen; 8 nieces and nephews; and his four-legged companion, Sparky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Kandy Damschroder; paternal grandparents, Charles A. and Florence “Bum” (Ottney) Damschroder; maternal grandparents, John and Luella Rewoldt; cousins, Dane “Herf” Hofelich, Dina Burns, and Danica’s mother, Elizabeth Ann Bell.
A Celebration of Life will be hosted by Bob and Kathy Bortles on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3:00PM, 5822 Wagoner Road, Walbridge, OH, 43465.
