Shawn J. Roberts

GOUVERNEUR- Shawn Jon Roberts, affectionately known as "The Joker", age 61, of Gouverneur, NY passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY with his family at his side. Shawn was recently diagnosed with Esophageal cancer.
Shawn was born on November 22, 1962 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Arnold and Muriel "Pat" (Ferron) Roberts. He graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1980 and then attended North Country Community College, where he studied Ski Area Management. Shawn also attended SUNY Canton later in life where he studied Performance Motorsports. Shawn enjoyed creating art and music, as well as theatre performance and traveling. He lived an adventurous life. His experiences included Sky Diving in Nevada and biking to Boston and back. He was always the life of the party.
Surviving is his daughter, Megan Roberts and her companion Gary McIntyre; a grandson, Brock Aldridge; five siblings, Shirley and Don Putman of Sylvia Lake, Doug and Connie Roberts of Gouverneur, Arnie and Jackie Roberts of Richville, Judy and Bob Harper of Florida and Amy and Mike Corbett of Watertown and several nieces and nephews, he was labeled as the fun uncle!
Shawn is predeceased by his parents and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Roberts.
