Born on September 29, 1981, Shawn's early years were marked by a boundless curiosity and a love for the open road that would define much of his life.
Shawn's passion for life was evident in everything he did. He was a man who found joy in the roar of a motorcycle engine and the peace of a quiet garage where he could tinker to his heart's content. His hands were rarely clean, always stained with the evidence of his latest project, be it a car, bike, or any contraption with a motor. His love for mechanics wasn't just a hobby; it was a testament to his belief that with enough care and skill, anything could be brought back to life.

Shawn's legacy is carried on by his beloved children, Jacob, Kurtis, and Leita Young, who were the pride and joy of his life. His sister Shannon, along with many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins, will hold dear the memories they shared with Shawn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Sr. and Leita, his sister Nicole, and his brother Jacob Jr., with whom he is now reunited.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Shawn's Life will be held 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 1475 Pleasant Street in Lapeer..
