Jane R. Young, 102, of Manheim, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Pleasant View Communities. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Esther M. Ressler Benner. Jane was the loving wife of Stanley R. Young who died in July 2007 following 64 years of marriage. Jane was a 1941 graduate of Hempfield High School. For over 30 years Jane worked as a Cost Accountant for the former Raymark Industries, Manheim, retiring in 1984. Jane was an active and faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Manheim; where she served as Church Secretary, Licensed Lay Leader, Eucharistic Minister, Vestry, Choir, and Episcopal Church Women’s Member, Sunday School Teacher, and Altar Guild Director. Throughout her life Jane enjoyed Embroidery; she taught classes for many years, won many blue ribbons for her stitch work, served as Farm Show Judge for Embroidery, and served as President of the Embroiders Guild of America. She was certified in basic floral arranging and was an avid backyard flower gardener. She loved playing golf and bowling with her friends. Jane had a servant’s heart, and her faith and work at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church was deeply important to her. She cherished the members at St. Paul’s and considered them part of her extended family.
Surviving is a son, Jeffrey L. husband of Vickie Young of St. Peters, Missouri. Preceding her in death are five sisters: Ethel Miller, Ruth Work, Norma Carter, Carolyn Miller, and Linda Alday.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jane’s funeral service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 90 South Charlotte Street, Manheim, on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Jane’s memory to: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 90 South Charlotte Street, Manheim, PA 17545 or the Benevolent Care Endowment Fund, Pleasant View Communities, Attn: Development Dept., 544 N Penryn Rd. Manheim, PA 17545.
