Shawnee Hirschfeld Ingrum
January 22, 1963 – November 9, 2025
With profound love and gratitude, the family of Shawnee Hirschfeld Ingrum celebrates her remarkable life. Shawnee passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and joy that will continue to ripple through every person who was lucky enough to know her.
Born on January 22, 1963, in Lubbock, Texas, to Carol and David Hirschfeld, Shawnee's life was full of faith, fun, and service. She grew up with three loving brothers - David Hirschfeld Jr., Kendall Hirschfeld, and Wendall Hirschfeld - and from an early age had a magnetic way of drawing people together. As her loved ones like to say now, she was the "glue". She spent the majority of her childhood in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1981.
Shawnee attended Texas Tech University, where she developed a lifelong passion for the Red Raiders, and later became an equally dedicated (and humorously superstitious) fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Her game-day rituals were unwavering - all in the name of helping her team win, though their recent record didn't always reward her efforts.
A proud business owner of Heaven Sent Boutique, Shawnee poured her energy and creativity into her work, but her true joy came from her family and friends. She was the heart of every gathering - hosting celebrations in her home, making everyone feel welcome, and always showing up with too many presents for her grandchildren, too much food, and endless warmth. She loved spoiling her four grandchildren, taking them on adventures near and far - including memorable trips to meet Thomas the Tank Engine - and filling their lives with laughter and surprises.
Shawnee's deep compassion extended far beyond her home. She lived her faith through service, traveling on mission trips to Zambia and Latin America, volunteering at a Dallas food pantry, and spending time at Children's Medical Center, where her son Austin was treated for a heart condition. She also had the great privilege of visiting Israel and getting to literally follow the footsteps of Jesus. Shawnee gave generously of her time, heart, and resources - always believing that helping others was one of life's greatest joys.
She will be forever cherished by her children and their spouses: Austin and his wife Megan, Aaron and his wife Ellie, and Alyssa and her husband Colin; her grandchildren Grayson, Bennett, Mallory and Peyton; her brothers David Jr. and his wife Betty, Kendall and his wife Lisa, and Wendall and his wife Scarlett; and her mother Carol Hirschfeld; and beloved nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and in-laws in addition to the countless friends who became family along the way.
Shawnee had a zest for life that was contagious - whether she was planning a family trip, diving into a new service project, or convincing others to watch the latest "crappy reality TV" show she'd discovered. Her laughter, warmth, and boundless love will be missed beyond measure.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Right at Home Arlington, Dr. Steve Perkins and his team at Texas Oncology, Dr. Christian Sotelo and his team at Texas Health Resources, Jame Restau, ACNS at Baylor Irving, the team at Faith Presbyterian Hospice, and Rosie Dudley who provided generous and compassionate support for Shawnee and her family.
A celebration of Shawnee's life will be held at First United Methodist Church Coppell on December 6, 2025. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in remembering a woman whose heart made life brighter for everyone she met.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Shawnee's honor to a community organization committed to making the world a better place and continuing her legacy of caring for others. Here's some of the organizations that Shawnee has lovingly supported: Family Legacy Missions International, Children's Medical Center Dallas, Austin Street Center and Taylor's Gift.
