Sheila Diane Watson Baucom, 59, of Ruby, SC passed away in Monroe, NC on November 21, 2023.
She was born on August 3, 1964, in Brownsville, TN to Linda Cunningham and the late Frank Cunningham.
Sheila was a woman of many interests, a lover of life, and a source of joy to all who knew her. She had an infectious sense of humor that brought laughter and lightness to any room she entered. Her kind-hearted nature was evident in her interactions with everyone she encountered. Her interesting stories and experiences often held her listener's captive. Sheila was a beacon of positivity and a source of inspiration to many.
Passionate about word search puzzles, Sheila spent countless hours immersed in the challenge and thrill they presented. She was an avid shopper that was always on the lookout for the next great deal or unique find. Sheila's love for reading cookbooks was not only a testament to her culinary curiosity, but also a reflection of her love for good food and the joy she found in sharing a meal with loved ones. Sheila was a loyal fan of soap operas and enjoyed the suspense and drama they offered. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren, Curtis and Carter Efird.
Sheila is survived by her loving mother, Linda Cunningham of Monroe, NC; her devoted daughter, Beth Efird (Jeremy) of Albemarle, NC and her companion of twenty-five years, James Donald "Donnie" Oliver of Ruby, SC. She also leaves behind her brothers, Tim Cunningham (Jennifer) and their daughter, Joleigh Cunningham of Indian Trail, NC and Michael Cunningham (Drema) and their daughter, Kaitie Strouse (John) of Monroe, NC. Her grandchildren, Curtis Efird and Carter Efird will forever cherish the memories and love their grandmother shared with them.
Sheila's life was a testament to her strength, resilience and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched. She will be remembered for her kindness, humor and her interesting take on life. Sheila's passing leaves a void in our lives, but her spirit will continue to inspire us.
We remember Sheila, not with sadness, but with a smile. She will be deeply missed, but her love and light will forever shine in our hearts.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at a later date.
Memorials may be made to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.
