Sheila Janice Cave entered into eternal rest, June 10th, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS. She was born August 28, 1950, to Herman Leo and Wilma Ruth (Gordon) Johnson.
After graduation from North Forrest High School in Hattiesburg, MS, Sheila received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. While being a dedicated Registered Nurse for over 30 years, she also enjoyed playing the piano, working in her yard, and helping others in her church and community. Sheila was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Hutchinson, KS.
Sheila is survived by: her children, Samuel (Amy) Cave jr. and Jessica Cave; her grandsons, Samuel Cave III, James Cave, and Zachary Cave of Hutchinson; her brother, Rodger Johnson of Loxley, AL; aunts and several cousins.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband, Samuel C. Cave, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, in Eastside Cemetery, 500 S. Cleveland, Hutchinson, with Pastor Richard Haley officiating. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2025, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Riverside Baptist Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
