WHATLEY-DILLINGHAM, Sheila Mae -age 68 years 2 months 27 days of
Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born on Tuesday, June 14, 1955, in
Rome, Georgia to Napoleon and Virgie Mae (née Caldwell) Cothran, Sr.
Sheila was a woman of courage, passion, and immense love, whose life was a testament to the power of resilience and the strength of the human spirit.
Sheila's life was filled with the joy of family and the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of those she encountered. To cherish her memories, she leaves behind sons Phillip Whatley and Heracio Dillingham, beloved mother Virgie M. Cothran and dear sister Pamila K. Cothran, as well the proud aunt of two nieces, Francesca Cothran Kelley and Shaniece Harris Dean, and a nephew, Marcus L. Spears. She also leaves behind five great-nephews and two great-nieces to cherish her memory.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Napoleon Sr., brother, Napoleon Jr., and sister, Regina Cothran. In her family, she found her greatest joy, and her legacy will be carried forward in the lives of those who loved her.
Sheila was a woman of many passions and her courage was evident in every aspect of her life. She lived her life with an open heart and a keen sense of purpose. Her ability to love unconditionally and her passion for life were her most defining characteristics. Her courage was inspiring, and her spirit was indomitable. She left an indelible mark on everyone she met, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.
