Sheila Henley

Sheila Alexander Henley, 76, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025. She was born in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, on July 6, 1949.

Sheila was of the Church of God faith and was the owner and operator of Sheila's Handbags and Antiques. She enjoyed animals-especially dogs-antiques, collecting figurines, reading, and keeping up with the news and current events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Geneva Alexander; husband, Damon Lamar Henley, Sr.; son, Damon "Lamar" Henley, Jr.; grandparents, Chester and Hermian Alexander; brother, Joey Alexander; and sister, Kathy Jenkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dwight (Christy) Henley; siblings, Janice Varner, James (Marsha) Alexander, and Ricky (Carl) Alexander; grandchildren, Aaron (Allie) Hughes, Drake Henley, and Jenna Wimpee; great-grandchildren, Camden, Temperance, Blair, Wyatt, Ezra, and Spencer; daughter-in-love, Misty (Dee) Williams; dear friend, Lewis McMullen, Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga and Gentle Hands for their loving care.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 12:00–2:00 PM in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, Georgia.

A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, Rossville, Georgia.
