Steve Edward Hickman

Steve Edward Hickman, 80, of Rossville, GA, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area. Steve retired from Walker State Corrections as a corrections officer and served in a prison ministry with his wife in Dade County. He was raised in the Church of God with his parents and his early adult life he practiced in the Baptist faith at the Union Avenue Baptist Church of Rossville, GA. Steve and Pat attended Eagle's Chapel in Cleveland, TN, for many years. Steve wore many hats and was an entrepreneur, he worked for TVA, a carpenter, a race car driver on dirt track racing in Cleveland, he enjoyed gardening and being in nature, he was a Harley rider, and ran catering trucks for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cledus and Juanita Estelle Hickman; his first wife, Virginia Ruth Hicks-Hickman; his son, Odis Hickman; his daughter, Kim Phifer; his grandsons, Charles Cook and Austin Luna; his siblings, Jimmy Hickman, Odis Hickman, Willard Hickman, Joice Adams, and Betty Daughtery.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Pat Hickman; his children, Steve Hickman, Jr., Juanita (Keith) Luna, and Greg (Betty) Mulkey; his grandchildren, Chris Cook, Justin Cook, Jenny Dela Rosa, Ashley (Andrew) Brownell, Seth (Kaylie) Hickman, III, Jonathan (Bailey) Hickman, Noah Phifer, Caleb Cole, and Jared Cole; his many great-grandchildren; his sister, Stella Fairbanks; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home in Rossville, GA.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, 833 Chickamauga Ave., Rossville, GA 30741.
