Herman Percival Hickman, born December 30, 1948, in Elmer, NJ, to the late William and Frances Hickman, passed away on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025. A man of unwavering dedication and kindness, Herman lived a life filled with service, hard work, and love for his family and community. After graduating from Woodstown High School, Herman completed trade school for Data Processing and Computer Programming at Taylor School of Business in Philadelphia. Shortly thereafter, he joined the US Navy and bravely served in Vietnam, embodying the spirit of patriotism and duty. He retired from Owen's & Minors in Seabrook after years of devoted service. Never one to shy away from work, Herman continued to keep himself busy by working with Penske, Chiarelli Transports, and Auto Zone, showcasing his tireless determination and commitment. On December 19, 1998, Herman married Donna (Satterfield), his cherished wife, with whom he shared a deep bond and countless memories. Herman loved riding motorcycles, going to the casino and working in the yard. His favorite Team was the Las Vegas Raiders. Affectionately known as Pop and Pop- Pop. Herman caringly took care of his family. He kept his son encouraged with his favorite saying: Stay motivated! And early bird catches the worm. He made sure his grandkids always had pancakes from McDonald's on Saturday morning. Herman was predeceased by his parents, William and Frances Hickman, along with his brothers Gilbert, Eddie, John, Eugene, and sister Frances. He leaves behind his loving wife, Donna; his son Terrence (Stephanie); bonus son Franklyn Loatman (Patricia); bonus daughters Melba West and Sylvia Omer (Yousif); grandchildren Damion, Dominic, Ava, Darion, Aidan, Autumn, Tristan, great-grandchild Alana; his brother Robert of Elmer, NJ; sisters Lena Downing of Flint, Michigan, and Florence Jones of Vineland, NJ; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. The viewing will be held at Padgett Funeral Home on June 2nd from 11:00 AM to 1PM, with the funeral commencing at 1:00 PM. The internment -will be at the Cumberland County Veterans' Cemetery on Trench Rd in Hopewell Township. Herman will be remembered for his steadfast heart, dedication to his work, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, June 2nd at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the services.
