Sheila Faye (Greer) Hubble-Hicks, 65, passed from this earth on December 8, 2023. She was born to Douglas and Shirley (Hooper) Greer on January 27, 1958, in East St. Louis, IL.
She was a 1976 graduate of Thayer High School and lived in Springfield, MO, all of her adult life. She worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide for several years, was a homemaker many years, and then worked as a custodial supervisor at Hammons Tower until her retirement in 2020.
She spent time watching television (especially QVC), listening to The Monkees, watching scary movies and collecting Charlie Brown and Peanuts memorabilia. She loved Christmas and started decorating every year in September; her house was a Christmas wonderland.
Sheila married Mark Hubble, Sr. in 1981, and to this union one son was born, Mark Hubble II. They remained close friends until her death. She married Thomas Hicks in 2008, and they enjoyed visiting casinos, working jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. Thomas was Sheila's faithful and loving caretaker in recent years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, Scotty Dale.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas, son, Mark Hubble II and his wife Stefanie of Bolivar, MO, and a precious granddaughter, Victoria, along with her former husband, Mark Hubble, Sr. and his husband, Dale Fowler (Bolivar, MO).
She is also survived by three brothers, Doug and wife Becky (Springfield, MO), Scott and wife Julie (Springfield, MO), and Carl and wife Revecca (Bolivar, MO), half-sister Cookie Crenshaw (Smiths Station, AL), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including long-time friend Pam Merrill.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 15, 2023, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
