On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Sheila Kay Zachmann went home to be with Jesus. She received her ultimate healing with a heart overflowing with praise to her King.

Sheila was born in Beach, ND on August 11, 1957, the eleventh of twelve children to Lloyd and Violet (Anthony) Weinreis. She grew up on Peaceful Valley Farm southeast of Golva. She attended country school for three years and completed her education at Golva Public School, graduating in 1975. Dan Zachmann and Sheila were married on the VVV Ranch on September 15, 1978 and began raising their family on the Zachmann family farm east of Golva.

Sheila’s life was centered around her four children and being a Godly mother was her greatest motivation. She also was a vital part of the Zachmann Auction Service and their cattle and farm operation.

Sheila thoroughly enjoyed horses, working cattle, and branding season. She could be found with a Hauptner syringe in one hand and her pink cain in the other. Sheila was a loyal and loved member of the JE (Just Exhausted) processing crew. Her unforgettable whit, and an unmatchable, fun-loving, prankster personality will always be a treasured memory. Whether it was mowing the lawn, tending her flower beds, driving through the park, or going on joy rides with the grandkids in Old Blue or the side by side, she was happy just being outside. Sheila left behind many journals, diaries, and notebooks filled with thoughts, stories, prayers, and poems that will be cherished for generations.

Sheila loved her Grace Church family and faithfully served as treasurer. One of her favorite things was being behind the computer helping the music team.

Sheila was everything we all should strive to be. Loving, kind, generous, thoughtful, forgiving, patient, and oh so sweet. Having her in the room made life better. Dan, her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. But above all else her greatest desire was to honor the Lord. Sheila left a lasting impact and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Dan Zachmann; sons, Ben (Katie) Zachmann; Nate (Hannah) Zachmann; daughters, Alaina (Joe) Phalen, Mariah Zachmann (the Beloved); grandchildren, Blaze, Colt and Jase Zachmann, Logan, Dylan and Nolan Phalen, Sunnie, Bo, Esther, and Crew Zachmann; sisters, Joyce (Larry) Bosserman, Cheryl (Ed) Hammond; brothers, Chuck (Nina) Weinreis, Gene (JoAnne) Weinreis, Jim (Becky) Weinreis, George (Pam) Weinreis, Danny (Callie) Weinreis, Jerry (Mary) Weinreis, Lee (Charlene) Weinreis; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Violet Weinreis; sisters, Edith Bosserman and Ruth Hudson.
