Jeanna Michelle "Shelli" Griffin, age 60 of Somerset, passed from this life to her eternal rest on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the Cumberland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
She was born on February 14, 1965 in Somerset, Kentucky the sweetheart baby girl born to James Craig and the Late Norma Jean Griffin. Though Shelli was disabled all of her life, in her younger years she enjoyed Special Olympics as well as listening to music, spending time with her dolls and stuffed animals and watching television. She was a sweet, kindhearted and jovial person and will be sadly missed by her family, loved ones and friends.
Besides her mother; Norma Jean Griffin, she is preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and a maternal uncle; Charles "Bud" McWilliams.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her devoted father; James Craig Griffin of Somerset, a loving brother; Dr. James "Jim" (Sharon) Griffin of Knoxville, Tennessee along with her nieces; Blakeley and Whitney Griffin, two maternal aunts; Dr. Beth (Ralph) Pope of Mobile, Alabama and Sherry Ratliff of Lakeland, Florida, first cousins; Jamie, Anastasia, Griffin, Elizabeth Ann, Emily, Heidi and Tracey (Brian) Combs as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co & Crematory, 113 North Main Street, Somerset, Kentucky. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 pm in the Woodstock Cemetery with Bro. Robbie Cable Officiating.
In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made in memory of "Shelli" to the Special Olympics Organization, 2600 Virginia Ave NW, 11th Floor, Washington, DC 20037 or Email: [email protected] or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Kentucky 42503.
